In 1984, Doug Shoffner and his partner, John Hall, along with two employees, opened the door to their plumbing supply warehouse on Webb Avenue, Burlington. Doug said "We treat everyone the way we want to be treated: Fair, above-board and ethical. That's the back bone of this business." Two short years later, in the summer of 1986, Shoffner bought out his partner and by 1991 the company had outgrown its Webb Avenue warehouse and were moving to the present South Mebane Street location.
Carolina Supply's currently has two locations: One on South Mebane Street in Burlington, which consists of a 32,000 square foot warehouse and gallery; and the second, located in Asheboro, NC is a 17,000 square foot warehouse and gallery. The Burlington facility houses a 3,200 square foot gallery, that remains one of the largest and most modern in the area. Between both locations, we currently stock over 10,000 parts to meet any of your needs. Burlington is the only Kohler-registered showroom in the area, something Carolina Supply is very proud of!
One key to Carolina Supply's success is the importance of family. Doug's daughter, Kelli, has been working with the organization for 15 years, is currently General manager. Kelli has worked in every position in the company at one time. His oldest son, Jeff, has been with the company for 20 years, currently acting as Operations Manager. Nancy has managed the showrooms, but is currently enjoying retirement. Additionally, one of Carolina Supply's first employees, Wendy Winebarger is still with the company after 31 years. "They are like my second family," Wendy says. "In fact, I see them more than my own family," she adds. Wendy has also held every position in the company at one time and has a vast knowledge of plumbing.
Another key to Carolina Supply's success is being involved in our community. The company regularly donates to many nonprofit organizations. They value the work done in the community and want to give back to the growing community as much as they can.
Carolina Supply celebrated its 30th anniversary on October 15, 2014! We continue to be committed to providing our customers with all of their kitchen and bath needs. We also sell pipes, valves, and fittings of many types and sizes-We are your one stop shop!
Doug emphasizes, still today, the importance of taking care of our customers by saying, "We don't just sell you pipes and sinks, we want to be "Your Plumbing Partner." We would be honored to work with you!
